Pilates is a form of resistance exercise. In Pilates, bodyweight and springs are used to strengthen the whole body including the core. Joseph Pilates created his method of resistance training to include exercises on Pilates equipment including the reformer. Pilates is also a mind-body form of exercise. It incorporates breath, concentration and movement.
